The Future of Smart Cities: Smart Real Estate – Accelerating IoT
With the exponential growth in the IoT industry, large industrial manufacturers and technology giants are looking to leverage IoT to transform real estate. Buildings of the future will inevitably incorporate IoT platforms which combine smart applications and cloud technologies. The benefits are numerous: energy saving, improving occupant well-being (more relevant than ever in a post-Covid world) and better utilization of office space. However, IoT in the building brings with it complexities around data management, questions on the return on investment as well as privacy and legal concerns. How do you balance the challenges with an improved user experience? And what will be the IoT footprint in 2020 and beyond when it comes to real estate?
Agenda
September 30 - Wednesday
When Will Real Estate Get Smarter?
The business case for IoT in buildings is compelling but in many parts of the world it’s still in its infancy. While adoption in real estate has been limited to date, it’s predicted to grow over the next two years. The reality of Covid-19 will also accelerate the desire and need for smarter real estate. We examine the practicalities of rolling out IoT platforms for buildings and discuss the cost-benefit as well as the use cases. What learnings are there from those who have advanced further in this field that can be shared?
