The Future of Disruption
Disruptive change is one of the few constants in today’s global markets. At this special luncheon event, Bloomberg will convene some of Asia’s business and finance leaders to share vital insight into where 2018’s wave of disruption will hit, and identify the investment opportunities that will emerge.
Disruptive change is constant
Disruptive change is one of the few constants in today’s global markets.
And the pace of change is only accelerating; 50 years ago, the lifespan of companies in the S&P 500 was 33 years. By 1990 this had reduced to 20 years. By 2030, forecasts predict the average lifespan will drop even further to 14 years.
2018 should contribute whole-heatedly to this trend, with disruptive events set to provide major headwinds for all industry sectors; a sizeable correction in global stock markets, escalating political and geo-political tensions, artificial intelligence going mainstream, and China ramping up its transformation into a private-sector led, consumption-based economy.
