Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) presents a range of challenges; in particular, it’s pricey, and there’s nowhere near enough of it. Production at scale presents resource challenges, and the demand for SAF far outweighs the current supply. But given that SAF provides the most effective and immediate way for the airline industry to cut its emissions, the SAF market needs to grow quickly in order for airlines to decarbonize.
We’ll discuss the current state of the SAF market and what can be done to increase production of SAF and cut production costs. Given that business travel accounts for a large portion of many companies’ GHG emissions, we’ll also discuss how businesses can partner with airlines and producers to encourage the development and use of SAF.

Bloomberg Green Festival Square Mile Relay

One team. Five runners. One mile each. Who will be Green Festival’s fastest team? The Friday event night will consist of a team-based relay with teams of 5 battling it out on our unique one-mile race route.
Runners will enter on an individual basis and will be randomly allocated into a team on the night. However, if you already have a team of 5 in mind - simply get everyone to register and then turn up together on the night to get allocated into the same team.
Each member of the team will run a one mile lap before handing the baton to the next runner in their team. This is team-building with a difference, and after revelling in that post-race afterglow, you get to celebrate in the event village and enjoy an evening of food, drink, and entertainment. All participants must register in advance.

Volunteers will participate in weeding and mulching of park spaces, as well as nearby greenbelt areas. This excursion will be a wonderful opportunity to give back to the Seattle community while enjoying unparalleled views of downtown and the Puget Sound.
